  1. Oooh! Lots of drilling and soldering been going on in my workshop. Soldering the silver jump rings when they are inserted in the glass is a pretty tricky job, could have done with four hands, but it means  - no more lost charms - they're finished - 6 sterling silver belcher chain and sea glass charm bracelets - pretty!  They look equally good when worn alone or when stacked with other bracelets.

  2. Such a wonderful place!

The Strandline on any beach is a wonderful place, but having  Warkworth beach as my local beach I suppose I am biased :)

The Strandline.co.uk takes it’s name from the real strandline, the line on the beach where the turning tide leaves bits and pieces that have washed up on the waves. The shingle beds where I find most of my sea glass occur along the strandline and on the beach just behind it.  But it’s not only glass and discarded pottery that washes up on the strandline, the most obvious debris to be found there are the natural products of the sea, dislodged sea weeds, crab shell, mermaids purses, beautiful shells of razor clams, limpets, mussels and other molluscs and also natures own jewels quartz pebbles of rare agate, jasper, onyx and other minerals amongst the mounds of limestone and sandstone pebbles.

“The Strandline” what better name could there be for something that makes beautiful jewellery from stranded pieces and distributes them “online”.

A “farewell flypast” by a Sea King helicopter from ‘A’ Flight 202 Squadron at RAF Boulmer is planned to take place this Saturday 26th September – the helicopter will fly over Bondgate Tower at 11 o’clock in the morning. Please pass these details on to anyone who may be interested in attending.

The Sea King was unable to carry out a flypast at last Sunday’s Battle of Britain parade as it was called out on a Search and Rescue task. Please be aware that Saturday’s planned flypast will again be subject to operational commitments.

  5. The Farne Islands, a sanctuary for seabirds and seals, celebrate 90 years as a British jewel of conservation

    farne-islands-009

Puffins always draw the summer crowds to the islands off Northumberland, which are the favourite UK wildlife site of Sir David Attenborough.

A couple of miles out to sea, off the Northumberland coast, some uncut jewels in the firmament of England’s natural heritage shimmer. The Farne Islands, ancient and sanctified by the hands of St Cuthbert, can only be reached on one of a fleet of boats that ferry hundreds of visitors each day in high summer. Drive through country roads until pasture gives way to sand and you are in Seahouses, the little coastal village where time, when it reached 1969, liked what it saw and decided to tarry.  Read more in The Guardian

  6. Yey, it's sunny this morning here in Northumberland, can only hope it lasts! Post Office run, then beach walk (looking for sea glass) then into the studio to make some more of these gorgeous little stacking rings. They're made with 2mm sterling silver wire, so not as thin as my super skinny 1mm stacking rings.

Wear them singly or stacked, buy one then add to them. What do you think, alone or stacked?

  7. Had a fabulous walk along the beach yesterday collecting sea glass and taking photographs. The weather was a bit mixed, voercast, sunny, cloudy and for July it was a little chilly - had my fleece on.

♥  The video has just been uploaded so it may be a little while before you can play it.  I will keep checking to see when it is available :)

  8. #WOW – what a surprise!  My tweet was re-tweeted by Jacqueline Gold, CEO of Ann Summers!

    wowbutton 25in

In June 2011 Jacqueline launched a campaign to support women in business, an area she is incredibly passionate about. Women On Wednesday, or #WOW, takes place every Wednesday and is run through Jacqueline’s Twitter page. Each week Jacqueline encourages female business owners to tweet her using the #WOW hash tag along with their business name and a short overview of what they do. Jacqueline then picks her three top entries for that week and re-tweets them to her followers (currently over 48,900).  The three winners also receive a #WOW badge which they can display on their company websites.

When selecting the three winners, Jacqueline looks for businesses that are interesting, that have strong brand values and that she thinks have potential to grow and succeed in their industry.  She looks for quality products, well designed websites and entrepreneurs who appear to have a good business and who have thought about what the consumer wants and how to deliver it.
